You might remember Helen Mirren on a jet ski at last night’s Oscars. The jet ski, worth almost $18,000, was presented to Best Costume Design winner Mark Bridges for having the shortest acceptance speech.

Mirren looked spectacular in a gold-embellished number and played her parody role as a “Price Is Right” prize display girl perfectly. But beforehand, she made her 2018 Oscar debut with a navy gown, sapphires and some booze.

That’s right — Mirren, 72, was spotted throwing back a shot of tequila on the red carpet right before an interview.
When asked what was in the shot glass, she said proudly, “It was tequila! It was just given to me down the road a bit — fantastic!”
Twitter users praised her as “LIFE GOALS” (all caps needed) and a “boss woman.”

Helen Mirren is so gorgeous. The photograph of her taking that tequila shot on the red carpet, like the boss woman she is, only makes me sigh in admiration more. ?#Oscars90

Mirren said the tequila shot was good for her nerves (true), but when asked why she’d be nervous given she’s already won an Oscar in 2007 for her lead role in “The Queen,” she admitted, “I’m not nervous tonight, I’m not. I’m just going to really enjoy it.”
She also denied a photographer an over-the-shoulder pic (because no one can tell Queen Mirren what to do, obviously).
Photographer: “Over the shoulder, Helen!”

When Mirren left that post-shot red carpet interview, she was told to “enjoy” her tequila, and we’re sure she did. After all, she’s quoted in one of her earliest interviews as saying, “I’m a would-be rebel—the good girl who’d like to be a bad one.”
You’re still a saint, Helen. Still a saint.
