While there was plenty to adore about Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there was one hot topic that everyone has been discussing ever since it was released back in 2015. Of course, I am referring to the potential romance between Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron and John Boyega’s Finn, which was only teased in the glances and exchanges between the two characters, but was soon expanded upon with fan fiction.
The follow-up to “The Force Awakens,” “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” is all set to hit cinemas in just over two months, and moviegoers are already anticipating heavier flirting between the pair in the blockbuster.
On Friday I had the opportunity to sit down with Boyega to discuss his work as the lead actor and producer on “Pacific Rim: Uprising.” During our chat, I decided to quiz him about the potential romance between Poe Dameron and Finn, and the 25-year-old Brit outlined the next pivotal step that needs to occur.
“I think that Oscar is always looking at me with love in his eyes, and I guess that the fans saw it. And then they realized that either he needs to chill or come out.”
Clearly, Boyega is rather shy, because he is putting all of the pressure on Oscar Isaac to make the first move. Fortunately we don’t have too much longer to wait and see if that will occur in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” as the blockbuster will finally hit cinemas on Dec. 15.
It is a busy couple of months for John Boyega, because soon after the release of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” moviegoers will also get to see the actor in “Pacific Rim: Uprising,” the trailer for which dropped at New York Comic Con on Friday.
“Pacific Rim: Uprising” will be released into cinemas on March 23, 2018.
