There was a time — probably (hopefully) in elementary school — when you would giggle at a dirty joke you heard in passing. And some people, surprisingly enough, actually live in places that sound like the punchlines. Take for instance Analândia, Brazil.
Pornhub announced today that they are giving residents of dirty-named cities worldwide free Premium memberships — for life.
“With the proliferation of online adult entertainment, many people have become very well-versed in its vernacular and sexual sayings,” Pornhub Vice President Corey Price said in a statement. “Unfortunately, this has made towns with sexually suggestive names the butt of many more jokes.”
He continued, “Here at Pornhub, we think a name is worth celebrating, rather than subjecting to incessant ridicule. To help make residents of these towns prouder of their roots — and the rest of the world a bit envious — we are designating them as ‘Official Pornhub Premium Places’ and supplying them with free lifetime memberships to Pornhub Premium.”
A Pornhub spokesperson told Metro, “If you’re in a city that’s listed as a premium place, the landing page will recognize where you are located.” So, anyone in cities like NYC, Boston or Philly would be automatically listed as ineligible for the free service. (However, as most promos go, it does tell you that you can still try Pornhub Premium free of charge for one week.)
The company is encouraging anyone living in cities with dirty names they may have missed to share the hashtag #PremiumPlaces on Twitter or Instagram. Your hometown just might make the cut.
