Halloween is celebrated on October 31 and while many people are gearing up for costume parties, pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating, others are getting ready to celebrate Halloween birthdays.
If you’re celebrating a birthday on Halloween you have the added bonus of being able to celebrate another year of life by turning your birthday party into a costume party.
There are several notable movie and television stars, musicians, film directors and other public figures (both dead and alive) who all were born on the spookiest day of the year.
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s daughter Willow Smith was born on October 31, 2000. The singer will celebrate her 17th birthday this year on Halloween.
Robert Van Winkle, who is better known as Vanilla Ice was born on October 31, 1967. He’s best known for his 1989 hit song “Ice Ice Baby.” Today, he has a television show on the DIY Network called “The Vanilla Ice Project,” a show that focuses on his home-flipping business.
Actor John Candy, who probably has the best fitting name for Halloween died of a heart attack in 1994 at age 43. Candy was best known for his roles in such films as “Uncle Buck” and “Planes, Trains, & Automobiles” and made several appearances on “Saturday Night Live.” Candy would have celebrated his 67th birthday on Halloween.

Journalist and former anchor of “CBS Evening News” Dan Rather was born on October 31, 1931 and is turning 86 this year.
Architect Zaha Hadid was born on October 31, 1950. In 2004, she became the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize and the first woman to win a Royal Gold Medal in 2016 for architecture. In March of 2016 Hadid died of a heart attack in a Miami Hospital where she was being treated for bronchitis.
