Coffee and donuts are a solid breakfast combination, but what about beer and donuts?
Foodies can try for themselves now that the Sam Adams pumpkin ale donut is back on the menu at Kane’s Donuts. The shop will have the special available at its Boston and Saugus locations throughout the month of October, so fill up on the fall treat while you can.
The beer-filled snack is a cake-style, pumpkin donut that’s made with cinnamon and nutmeg, topped with a glaze created from reduced Sam Adams Fat Jack Double Pumpkin Ale and Kane’s signature honey glaze.
“Sam Adams and Kane’s share the same dedication to our respective crafts and the same commitment to working with and supporting local and regional businesses,” Sam Adams brewer Jennifer Glanville said in a release. “Kane’s using our limited-batch Fat Jack Double Pumpkin Ale is sure to make for some tasty treats for Bostonians this October.”
The Sam Adams donut isn’t the only boozy offering that’s returning to Kane’s this fall, as the shop is also bringing back its Angry Orchard hard apple cider donut.
Similar to the beer and pumpkin treat, the apple cider donut is a cake-style creation featuring fresh apple cider and cinnamon. The donut is dipped in a special honey glaze as well, which uses Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider.
“Our loyal customers love when we bring other Boston-based brands into our products,” Kane’s co-owner Maria Delios said in a release. “It goes without saying there’s a little extra excitement in the air when they hear we’re creating donuts using beer from Sam Adams and hard cider from Angry Orchard.”
