Hold on to your mousepads, kids. This news might blow you away.
Sen. Tim Kaine, VP to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, is not in an open marriage with his wife Anne Bright Holton, a lawyer, judge and formerSecretary of Education forVirginia. At least not that we know of. A tweet ostensibly written by Kaine in 2015 read: “When my wife told me she wanted to open our marriage and take other lovers, she wasn’t rejecting me, she was embracing herself.”
Those words actually come from a New York Magazine article about one man’s experience with his wife who wanted an open marriage.
“When my wife told me she wanted to open our marriage and take other lovers, she wasn’t rejecting me, she was embracing herself,” the author (not Kaine) wrote. “When I understood that, I finally became a feminist.” Snopes called the declaration of an open marriage “false” and said it originated in August by Twitter user @RealScottErnst and gained steam after being posted on the website Prntly. “While it has been displayed on sites such as Prntly.com, a disreputable outlet that has a penchant for publishing both fake news and spurious pro-Trump articles, a direct link to the alleged Tweet has not yet materialized,” according to Snopes. The photo has been tweeted by @RealScottErnst nine times since Aug. 6.
If HRC becomes #POTUS, Secret Service may catch #BillClinton banging #TimKaine‘s wife while Kaine watches. SMH. pic.twitter.com/3NXeFbu3d6
