Our tears are not yet dry over last week’s departures from the “Hamilton” cast, and now two more actors are exiting the show.
Daveed Diggs, whose purple coat and flamboyant dancing ensured we’ll never look at another picture of Thomas Jefferson the same way again, is leaving after this Friday, July 15. The Broadway newcomer also did double duty as AlexanderHamilton’s high-fiving immigrant ally, the Marquis de Lafayette, in Act I, and won the Tony for Best Featured Actor. Pour one out for him — or better yet, do a shot out of a Grammy, as is the new custom.

Also on Wednesday, Broadway.com announced that Renee-Elise Goldsberry, the stoic Angelica Schuyler who put her sister’s feelings for Hamilton ahead of her own (though who could blame her for asking to share), will bow out in the fall to star in a new Netflix series, “Altered Carbon.” In previous departing news, Saturday, July 9,was thefinal performancefor”Hamilton” writer and starLin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr. in his Tony-winning lead role as Aaron Burr, and Philippa Soo as Hamilton’s wife, Elizabeth Schuyler.
