Tyga says his texts to a 14-year-old girl were purely professional

Tyga is finally speaking out about that whole “swapping text message with a 14-year-old he met on Instagram” thing that’s been plaguing him since before the holidays. Of course, a press conference by the girl in question with lawyer Gloria Allred — because of course it’s Gloria Allred — by her side is bound to ellicitsome sort of response.

“The truth is that Tyga contacted me first,” Molly O’Malia said during Monday’s press conference.“He direct-messaged me on Instagram. I knew who he was, but I was surprised that he was contacting me. I thought that it could possibly be about my music, but he did not mention that in his initial communication with me. I thought that was strange, but I was thinking he would bring that up in his next message to me. However, he didn’t mention it in the next message.”O’Maliaexplains that things quickly escalated in a manner for which she wasn’t prepared.“I began to feel uncomfortable when he asked me to FaceTime with him,” she said. “He asked me to FaceTime three times, but I did not do it. Because of my discomfort with why he wanted to communicate with me, I quickly stopped responding to him.”

But that’s the tricky thing — why Tyga wanted to communicate with her. The rapper spoke out today to TMZ via his reps insisting he was only ever interested in her as a singer. In addition, Tyga’s manager says the girl said she was actually 17intext messages — screenshots of which were provided to the website.
