A peculiarly chambered, nautilus-inspired carousel is coming to Battery Park on August 20. The SeaGlass Carousel at The Battery is a giant spiraling pavilion of glass and steel filled with giant iridescent fish that the Battery Conservancy says “glide through the sights and sounds of a 360 degree aquatic adventure.” The carousel was designed to reflect the history of The Battery as the first home of the New York Aquarium.
A rider will sit within the fish rather than on top of it like a typical carousel.
