A NYC Marathoner who had disappeared moments after Sunday’s race was spotted by police on a southbound subway near 34th Street and Seventh Avenue on Tuesday morning. Police said they took Gianclaudio Marengo, 30, to be reunited with his running group,ABC 7reported. Marengo had come to New York with a group of runners and finished the grueling race before collecting his belongings and vanishing from Central Park around 3 p.m. on Sunday, according to a New York Daily News report. Marengo was one of 50,229 entrants in the 45th running of the NYC Marathon,NBC reported. RELATED:Stanley Biwott and Mary Keitany the big winners at New York City Marathon The 5-foot-8, 150-pound Italian-speaking Marengo had disappeared moments after the race, wearing a turquoise shirt, black shorts, and a Marathon racing bib with the number 23781 on it. Police told the Daily News that the bib has a GPS tracker on it, but it doesn’t work off the course. Members of Marengo’s running team had first reported him missing to the Italian consulate on Monday, which alerted the NYPD, the Daily News reported.
