Tyson Foods is recalling more than 130,000 pounds of fully cooked chicken nuggets because customers complained they found hard plastic bits in them.
According to the Food Safety and Inspection Service, the following products that were sold at Costco nationwide are being recalled:
The products have establishment number “EST. 13556” printed next to the “Best if used by” date. Tyson Foods said the plastic material ranged in size from 21 millimeters in length and 6.5 millimeters in diameter and may have come from a round, hard plastic rod used to connect a plastic transfer belt. Tyson said the products pass through a metal detector before leaving the plant, but the plastic was missed during screening. No injuries have been reported, the Food Safety and Inspection Service wrote on its website, and consumers who bought the above products are asked to return them to the store where they bought them.
