VIDEO: California couple films bedbug infestation at NYC hotel

A California couple’s dream New York vacation turned into a nightmare recently when they discovered a bedbug infestation in their Upper West Side hotel room.

Elgin Ozlen and his girlfriend were staying at the Astor on the Park Hotel to ring in the New Year when they allegedly encountered the notorious insects on their hotel room mattress.

The pair filmed the infestigation and Ozlen posted the video to YouTube— it’s since gone viral.

“We were expecting a vacation to remember the rest of our lives, and we will definitely remember it for the rest of our lives, but it won’t be a pleasant memory,” Olzen told ABC News.

Ozlen said the trip to New York City was a gift from his mother and he and his girlfriend were planning to explore the city and see the ball drop on New Year’s Eve in Times Square. Jan. 1 was also his birthday.

According Olzen, the hotel apologized and he was refunded the money for the hotel stay.
