During Thursday night’s Panthers-Eagles game, a Carolina Panthers fan sucker punched a 62-year-old man in the face multiple times, leaving him bloodied. The incident was captured on video.
Instagram user Warren Carrigan posted the video to Instagram during the game last night and it went viral. The video shows a man connecting a series of punches to the face of an older man, who remained seated and was trying to cover his face the entire time during the exchange. Fans sitting next to the 62-year-old man attempted to stop the attacker after but were unsuccessful. The 62-year-old man was seen holding his face with blood dripping from it.

The person who recorded the video also posted the perpetrator’s seat and section numbers in the caption, making it easier for officials to identify the attacker.
On Friday, the Carolina Panthers released an official statement about the incident, saying they have identified them man throwing the punches.
“We have reviewed the video tape of the incident and have identified the perpetrator,” Panthers Executive Director of Risk Management Lance Emory said in a statement posted to Twitter by Fox 46 reporter Caroline Fountain. “We are working with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law.”

According to Fox 46, police have not released the name of the victim to the public. By late Friday afternoon, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested the suspect, Kyle Adam Maraghy, and charged him with simple assault.
