An FDNY lieutenant rescued a 3-week-old baby from a burning home in Corona, Queens, Tuesday night.

The baby was rescued from a house fire at 34th Avenue and 106th Street about 9:30 p.m., according to FDNY sources, NBC New York reported, adding that the baby is in serious but stable condition, and no one else was hurt.

Lt. Adam Vilagos pulled the newborn out of his crib in the attic of the two-story house less than four minutes after the blaze erupted, the firefighter said to the New York Daily News, which also reported that the baby, identified by family as Sunjay Headley Jr., was placed on an oxygen machine and rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

After arriving at the fire, Vilagos, an 18-year FDNY vet, ran up to the second floor and heard the baby boy’s whimpers — as if the infant was struggling to breathe, the firefighter said to the Daily News.

“They did a heroic job. They came through. Thank God for them,” Lisa Brown, the infant’s grandmother, said to the Daily News, which added that fire officials say the newborn is expected to survive.

Authorities are investigating a cause of the fire, NBC reported.
