About as fast as a CNN news flash, Saturday Night Live seized on the news of Donald Trump’s shocking genitalia grabbing remarks for the obvious campaign-comedy fodder.
Alec Baldwin returned to SNL last night with his sidesplitting impersonation of the Republican presidential nominee, this time mocking Trump’s apology statement following the lewd comments he made to Billy Bush on an Access Hollywood bus. It was way back 11 years ago “when I was just a young, childish 59 year old man,” Baldwin-as-Trump said. “I was trying to look cool. What normal, red-blooded American doesn’t want to impress the Billy Bush,” “Trump” said. “Also, P.S., you have to admit it’s kind of funny that the only Bush that matters in this general election is Billy.” Cecily Strong playing news anchor Megyn Kelly, remarks to Trump that a parade of Republicans who once supported him are marching out the exit, to which he responds:
“The only person I need is my running mate Mike Pence. I love Mike Pence. I respect Pence. I’ll always have Pence.”
Kelly then said: “Actually he said he can’t condone your remarks, and then he cancelled his campaign events.
“Mike Pence is a loser. I hate his guts. I call him puny Pence.”
Then cut to Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon), hunkering down with her campaign preparing – or celebrating – ahead of the second debate.
“I’m studying so hard, I’m really nervous for this one,” said Clinton with glee as she shakes and pops open a bottle of champagne.
SNL veterans Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon returned to Weekend Update as a pair of undecided voters Denise and Doreen from Philadelphia. Though undecided, they excuse Trump’s actions as acceptable because he’s a “star” and compares him to drunk clowns who honk your breasts at a parade – because that’s OK. Watch your faves from SNL hit the nail on the head, again
And here’s last week’s SNL Trump-Clinton debate skit in which Alec Baldwin repeatedly says “jina.”
