WATCH: Bryan Cranston cooks up trouble with Trump on SNL

Donald Trump’s anti-Saturday Night Live tweeting had become a regular feature in the past few weeks, but the absence of his whining about this weekend’s episode made it look like one of his advisers has gotten through to him.

WWE champion John Cena hosted, and Alec Baldwin took a breather from his impersonation of the president-elect for Saturday’s show. Bryan Cranston, playing his Breaking Bad character Walter White (a meth-making high school teacher), introduced himself on CNN as the incoming head of the Drug Enforcement Administration for the show’s cold open.

The bit was less slapstick and more sardonic in drawing parallels to Trump’s administration picks, such as Myron Ebell, a known climate-change skeptic, to head up the Environmental Protection Agency’s transition.

“He came highly recommended bySteve Bannon,” Kate McKinnon’s Kellyanne Conway character says, referencing Trump’s chief political strategist.

“Steve’s the best. We’ve had some times,” Cranston responds, adding that Bannon discovered him “in thecommentsection atBreitbart.”

“Trust me I know theDEAbetter than anyone inside and out,” the Breaking Bad character said.

“I also like that wall he likes to build. Nothing comes in,” Cranston said. “That means a lot less competition for all of us.”

“Trump and I agree: It’s time to make America cook again. We want to fill this nation with red white and a lot of blue.”
