First lady Michelle Obama spoke at a campaign rally in New Hampshirefor Hillary Clinton on Thursday with a speech that some say deserves a mic drop.
FLOTUSspoke about the effectTrump’s words have had on her, but she never once mentioned him by name.
Obama said she “couldn’t stop thinking about” the comments made by Trump on the hot mic video when he talked about forcibly kissing women and grabbing them by the genitals. “It has shaken me to my core in a way that I couldn’t have predicted,” she said. Obama spoke about how she understands how it feels to be ogled, be the target of a cat call or have a coworker stand too close or stare too much.
“What message are our little girls hearing about who they should look like, how they should act?” she said during her address. “What lessons are they learning about their value as professionals, as human beings, about their dreams and aspirations? And how is this affecting men and boys in this country? Because I can tell you that the men in my life do not talk about women like this. And I know that my family is not unusual.” “Strong men — men who are truly role models—don’t need to put down women to make themselves feel powerful,” Obama added.
