Fresh on the heels of her lauded debut on the cover of Vanity Fair, the triailer for Caitlyn Jenner’s new reality show “I am Cait” was released by E!
One immediate observation is the change in tone from the show’s famous cousin, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” The dramatic gasps, and sound effects are nowhere to be found, instead what we see (and hear) with “I am Cait” is a more subdued and, dare we say, serious tone?
“So many people go through life and they never deal with their own issues — no matter what the issues are!” Jenner says in a voice over of her applying makeup in her Malibu home. “Ours happen to be gender identity! How many people go through their entire life, and just waste an entire life because they never deal with themselves to be who they are?”
Caitlyn showed off who she is on the cover of Vanity Fair’s July issue which included an extended interview.
“To be able to wake up in the morning, be yourself, get dressed, get ready to go out, and just be like a normal person. That’s a wonderful feeling to go through life,” she said to Buzz Bissinger in the magazine’s interview.
The trailer concludes with Caitlyn riding in the back of a car and remarking how wonderful it would be to be “normal.” An off camera voice assures her that she is normal.
“Put it this way — I’m the new normal,” she concludes.
