Will Smith used to get jiggy with it, but for the past few years, the award-winning actor hasn’t been in the studio much. His last album Lost and Found debuted in 2005, and his last single Get Lit dropped last year. Get Lit gave everyone a taste of Smith’s talent and reminded us all of that his musical chops can undoubtedly contend with his acting ability. Fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of another musical collaboration with the Fresh Prince.
Will Smith returns to music and drops an epic new video
Smith posted a video on social media in May confirming he was in the works for another musical hit “Gettin’ back in the studio. Just warmin’ Up.” Smith has always been one to make a splash and spitting “It’s 20 years of swag y’all just witnessed. Let me remind everybody who Will Smith is” cements that he is still one of the best rappers in the game.
Smith’s Instagram also showed him collaborating with Marc Anthony in a video he posted just a few days after his 50 birthday. “Oh we ain’t stopping… birthday week continues tomorrow… imma drop new music with @MarcAnthony and @BadBunnyPR!! #EstaRico,” Smith captioned the video.
Last night Will did a lot more than tease us all with a video of him in the studio. The Grammy-award winner dropped his new song, “Está Rico” with Marc Anthony and Bad Bunny, the trio also released a corresponding music video.
“Will and I have always wanted to work on a musical collaboration,” Anthony said in a press release, from Billboard. “This song seems perfect for this moment we’re both experiencing creatively. Working with Bad Bunny for the first time has been a great surprise. We all had a magnificent chemistry, and that energy is palpable in both the music and the video.”
