Those Clippers – Mavericks games next season should be fun. Whenever ESPN decides toputin a media request to talk to Mark Cuban should be a hoot, too.
Cuban was in no mood to be politically correct Thursday, hours after free agent DeAndre Jordan decided to go back on his verbal agreement to sign with Cuban’s Mavericks and instead re-sign with the Clippers. While LA’s Chris Paul was bawling Wednesday night like his first girlfriend just broke up with him, pleading with Jordan to come back to the Clippers, Cuban was driving around Houston like a mad man – looking for Jordan’s house … At least that’s what ESPN’s Chris Broussard was led to believe on the wildest night in NBA free agent history that didn’t involve a sit-down interview with Jim Gray. Broussard tweeted around 10:30 pm Wednesday:”CORRECTION: Sources: Cuban beside himself. Driving around downtown HOUSTON begging (thru texts) Jordan’s family 4 address to DeAndre’s home.” (Broussard had originally tweeted around 9:30 pm that Cuban was driving around Dallas)
Cuban undressed Broussardon Twitter Thursday morning, tweeting@ChrisBroussard, “That’s is the dumbest s*** I’ve ever heard. If you had any ethics u would msg me and I will give u his address.” Broussard hasn’t responded on Twitter, but did promote his appearance on something called “His & Her’s” on ESPN this afternoon at 4 p.m.. Guessing he’ll address the Cuban situation then. Cuban also went on his social media baby, Cyber Dusk, Thursday, telling Mavericks fans, “There will be a time when I detail everything I know regarding the last 48 hours.
I don’t think the time is right to say anything beyond the facts that he never responded to me at all yesterday. Not once. To this minute I have not heard anything from him since Tuesday night.
More importantly, I specifically told Wes [Matthews] that I would not hold him to his commitment if he wanted to go elsewhere. I can’t print his exact response, but suffice it to say he is excited to play for our Mavs:) Wes Matthewsis exactly the type of player we want in a Mavs uniform and our fans will love him. He will be in Dallas today so if you see him give him a MFFL welcome.”
