Trapped at Logan? There’s only so far a TSA-approved snack and refillable water vessel can get you. Here are some of your best bets for grabbing a decent meal, a quick cuppa and a few moments of solace before your flight. Terminal A Terminal B Terminal C Terminal E
There’s your standard Dunkin Donuts (x 3), Auntie Anne’s, Starbucks and Sbarro, but your best bets for sit-down dining are actually here. There’sLegal’s Test Kitchen by the Delta gates where you can nosh on steamed lobster by the pound, New England fried clams, and mugs of their signature clam chowder. Meanwhile, Seaport standbyLucky’s pops up just across from security, where you can chow down on toasted sesame hummus, cheese fries and diner-inspired, big stack sandwiches before takeoff. We also recommend Harpoon Tap Room, also post-security, where you can get a flight of ice cold micro-brew and bar snacks before boarding.
Cosi and Starbucks dominate Terminal B, but here is where you can also load up on crispy golden fries at McDonald’s (almost always worth mentioning) and a “farm-to-table” to-go snack at Berkshire Farms Market in the Terminal B Connector. However, if you’re not strapped for time, Vineyard Grille between gates B16-17 is a solid full-service option for a glass of wine and a regionally-inspired snack or small plate (lobster rolls are surprisingly aplenty at Logan).Espressamente Illy, of the Italian-bred Illy, is a good go-to for a jetlag-suppressing cup and is also located by B17. A taste of home can be found at Stephanie’s (at the Terminal B connector) offering sophisticated flavors (and full-service) from the same folks who brought you Stephi’s on Tremont and Stephanie’s on Newbury Street.
You’re screwed! Just kidding — you’re just destined to eat a cheeseburger. Boston’s prodigal sons Wahlburgers have a full-service outpost near gate C10, while Johnny Rockets has a quick serve, to-go location by gate C26. We also recommend Potbelly Sandwich Shop (by C11) and Currito, terminal C’s food court’s hidden gem — their Tikka, Teriyaki and Mediterranean-inspired burritos can simultaneously make you the most and least popular person on a flight. Meanwhile, you can snag a quick frothy pour at two Boston Beer Works locations by C14 and C27.
International departures, your options are limited, but luckily they’re pretty good. Durgin Park, an off-shoot of the Faneuil Hall spot, is located just across from E9, where you can sit down to order shrimp scampi and fish and chips. Vino Volo features consistently good (in our experience) small plates, plentiful wine options and free wifi between gates E7-8. (You can also find them in Terminal A by Delta and Southwest.)
