Obama said ‘no sweat’ to Israel

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is freaking out after the U.S. and other world powers made a nuclear deal with Iran, creating what he believes is a fast-track to the bomb. Obama told him that the deal was the only way to guarantee peace, and in any case we’ll look after Israel’s security.

Boston bomber jury prepared for closing statements

Both sides will present their final arguments in Boston today. The jury then has to go off to deliberate a verdict, but as even the defense team has said Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is guilty, it’s more of a case of working out whether he should die for his crimes.

Rolling Stone said sorry for a sham story

The magazine apologized as experts at Columbia said its unsubstantiated UVA frat house gang rape story was a total journalistic failure. Columbia’s report also said that the faked story could perpetuate the myth that rape victims make false allegations.

Indonesia rejected death row mercy pleas

It’s taking a hard line on foreign drug smugglers and said no to Australia’s attempt to save two of its nationals from the firing squad. The two prisoners are amongst 10 that are set to be executed on the paradise island of Bali.

“Furious 7” speeds to a record

Most movie franchises would have run out of fuel before the seventh sequel, but not the “Fast and the Furious.” The latest in the car-chase series earned a whopping $143.6 million in its opening weekend and is likely to be the most successful yet.
