Good morning!

As you get ready for the weekend, here’s a look at last night’s trending stories. Prime Minister David Cameron swept the British election, while Rio came under fire for being underprepared for 2016 Olympics.

Hillary Clinton wooed tech execs, and Mayweather said a Pacquiao rematch is a no-go. Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart also made headlines.
Prime Minister Cameron shocked all by winning election in Britain
Despite predictions of a particularly tight vote in Britain, Prime Minister David Cameron unexpectedly snagged a triumph. Among other reasons, the Conservative win is big as Britain is abuzz about the vote regarding its continued EU membership. Either way, Cameron certainly surprised everyone with the election sweep.
Rio de Janeiro nowhere near ready for 2016 Olympics
The 2016 Olympics are just around the corner, but the host city has only completed about 10 percent of the related construction. In fact, some new venues haven’t even been started yet, while major contracts have yet to be secured. Experts say it’ll likely be a rush job in Rio as there are currently less than 500 days until the Olympic Games begin.
Hillary Clinton wooed tech execs for presidential support
Few can argue that Hillary Clinton isn’t the current frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination. The former first lady brought her fundraising efforts to Silicon Valley this week, where she talked with some of the tech industry’s major power players. According to reports, the techie vote could be important to the upcoming presidential election.
Mayweather changed his mind about rematch with Pacquiao
After winning the “Fight of the Century” in Las Vegas less than a week ago, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is walking back statements he recently made about a potential rematch with Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather has been anything but shy when it comes to his feelings about Pacquiao—he thinks he’s a sore loser. His opponent says a shoulder injury, for which he underwent surgery just days after the fight, played a major role in the loss. Mayweather initially said he’d fight him again in a re-match next year, but has since changed his mind. Most insiders are expecting the unbeaten Mayweather to retire in the fall.
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert outshined conservatives in poll
A recent online poll put out by Reuters/Ipsos has revealed that when it comes to punditry, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are preferred over conservatives. With over 2,000 adults taking part in the poll, the comedians were also voted “most admired”—beating out conservatives like Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and more. What’s more is that over half of respondents said they agreed with Jon Stewart on at least some issues.
