Is there double toil and double trouble for The Donald? A community calling themselves the #magicresistanceis planning a mass spell “to bind Donald Trump and all those who abet him.”
The Facebook group explained what binding is and how it would apply to the object of the spell, the POTUS:
“Binding spells, or defixiones, are some of the oldest in the historical record, and are nearly universal in the world’s magical systems. In this document, binding, which seeks to restrain someone from doing harm, is differentiated from cursing or hexing, which is meant to inflict harm on the target(s)…
“In other words, this is not the equivalent of magically punching a Nazi; rather, it is ripping the bullhorn from his hands, smashing his phone so he can’t tweet, tying him up, and throwing him in a dark basement where he can’t hurt anyone.”
The ritual is “to be performedat midnighton every waning crescent moon until [Trump]is removed from office,” Medium’s Extra Newsfeed wrote. “The first ritual takes place Friday evening, February 24th, at the stroke of midnight.

Michael M. Hughes, the “eclectic magician” who started the ideatold Dazedthat even though he “felt very strongly” the event would go viral, he is still “amazed at the way it has spread around the world.”
