Is there double toil and double trouble for The Donald? A community calling themselves the #magicresistanceis planning a mass spell “to bind Donald Trump and all those who abet him.”

The Facebook group explained what binding is and how it would apply to the object of the spell, the POTUS:

“Binding spells, or defixiones, are some of the oldest in the historical record, and are nearly universal in the world’s magical systems. In this document, binding, which seeks to restrain someone from doing harm, is differentiated from cursing or hexing, which is meant to inflict harm on the target(s)…

“In other words, this is not the equivalent of magically punching a Nazi; rather, it is ripping the bullhorn from his hands, smashing his phone so he can’t tweet, tying him up, and throwing him in a dark basement where he can’t hurt anyone.”

The ritual is “to be performedat midnighton every waning crescent moon until [Trump]is removed from office,” Medium’s Extra Newsfeed wrote. “The first ritual takes place Friday evening, February 24th, at the stroke of midnight.

The “how-tos” are available here.

Michael M. Hughes, the “eclectic magician” who started the ideatold Dazedthat even though he “felt very strongly” the event would go viral, he is still “amazed at the way it has spread around the world.”

“It is long past time to use magic to elevate the consciousnesses of Trump, Bannon, and Miller, as the new age, love-and-light witches keep suggesting as an alternative,” he continued.”The damage this administration is doing daily is horrifying. It’s time to fight back, by every means at our disposal. And I believe it’s working already, just by the fact that so many people are doing it.”

Some early birds shared their take on the ritual:

Singer-songwriter Lana del Rey posted this cryptic tweet which has fans wondering:

1. What does she even mean?

2. Is she making fun of people casting spells?

3. Why couldn’t this be about a new album release?

Lana del Rey is an avid astrologist, as her fans know, and a rep for the “Love” songstress confirmed to Pitchfork that tweet does refer to the occult ritual dates.
