As WrestleMania XL is set to overtake the city of Philadelphia, fans of all ages are being swept up in the excitement. For those looking for a pregame celebration, there is a can’t miss event leading up to the evening’s festivities brought to you by Suplex Vintage Wrestling.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Suplex Vintage Wrestling is hosting a block party for the ages on the 600 block of South Street. With plenty of food, fun, and photo opps, this party has everything a wrestling fan could ask for including special appearances, memorabilia, and even an outdoor full scale wrestling ring that will feature a live match with professional wrestlers.
“Philadelphia is a wrestling city,” said Suplex Vintage Wrestling co-owner Chris Kindig. “It has a lot of history, a lot of prestige. We are almost obligated to give to that culture that started here. When people come to our store for the first time their eyes light up. We pride ourselves on being a slice of wrestling heaven.”
Food trucks, music, dancing, and drinks including an outdoor Biergarten with beer from Stone Cold Steve Austin, The People’s Margarita made with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Teraman Tequila and more. What else could one ask for ahead of the biggest wrestling event Philadelphia has ever seen?
How about an apperance by hip hop artist Westside Gunn who will be in attendance selling apparel from his “4th Rope” pop-up shop.
“For SuplexMania, it is going to be unlike anything you have ever seen in Philadelphia,” Kindig added. “This celebration is about welcoming wrestling fans into our great city, celebrating the electrifying energy of WrestleMania, and showcasing our collection that took more than a decade to bring together. We can’t wait for the celebration. Look for the big open-air wrestling ring – right in the middle of South Street.”
