Today, YouTube launched a new feature, Custom Blurring, a tool that, for the first time, allows video uploaders to blur absolutely anything in their videos. Until now, users have only had the ability to blur faces, but the new tool allows users to blur whatever they want, from bits of nudity to license plate numbers. For people filming in a public space, it’s a great tool for capturing what you want on camera while still respecting the privacy of others. To blur something out, all you have to do is use the Custom Blurring feature to draw a box around whatever it is you want blurred out. That’s literally it. It works even if the object is moving.
