Nearly half of the NFL has a win total Over/Under set at 8.5 wins at MetroBet.us/Sugar, as there are a pack of teams that seemingly could go to a Super Bowl or wind up as one of the worst five teams in the league. That, of course, is what makes the NFL so fun.
The Falcons have been mostly solid under head coach Dan Quinn, but he is one more below-.500 season from getting the boot. Here are the Falcons’ season-by-season records under Quinn, who took the job in 2015.
2015: 8-8
2016: 11-5 (won NFC)
2017: 10-6 (lost to Eagles in divisional round)
2018: 7-9
Atlanta does deserve a bit of a pass for last season’s poor mark, having lost seven starters to the Injured Reserve list. However, usually any team worth its salt with find one or two quality wins during the season – regardless of how beat up they are.
Here is the list of teams the Falcons beat last year:
Panthers (2)
Buccaneers (2)
Giants
Redskins
Cardinals
You can only play the teams on your schedule, but that’s pretty brutal.

This season’s Falcons schedule is much, much tougher as Atlanta is tied with Indy as having the seventh most difficult schedule in the league. They also open the season at Minnesota and then home against the Eagles in Week 2.
The Falcons owned the 31st worst defense in the NFL last year, according to Football Outsiders, and did very little in the off-season to remedy the issue. Matt Ryan and returning RB Devonta Freeman will put up some nice fantasy numbers, for sure, but the imbalance between Atlanta’s offense and defense should spell another below-.500 season in real life.
The play: $10 on Falcons Under 8.5 wins (+108)
